Leahi at 2 Megapixels

Leahi @ 2 megapixel glory

August 23: Hawaii Files Photo of the Day

This view of Mt. Leahi, more popularly known as Diamond Head was taken several months ago one morning while walking in Kapiolani Park. The camera I used? Alcatel Smart Flip 2, a basic flip phone that does limited internet and photos with the Kai OS. I  had this phone from July 2020 to late July 2022. A few weeks ago, the phone decided to die and now I am in the market looking for another “dumb” basic phone. The smart flip has been a good alternative to my mainline Google Pixel 4. It was a good bargain for $20 up front. Service was from Tracfone

Now that this phone is dead, I miss the concept of having a cheap alternative phone that I can take with me on days where the weather could be marginal. Perhaps another Alcatel or maybe a Nokia feature phone is in my future.

So what do you think of the photo? It is only 2 megapixel, just enough to qualify as a good, useable image. Still for a $20 device this can’t disappoint.

See the video below for more on the Alcatel Smart Flip.
