10-20-21: It’s Only The Hunter’s Moon

The Harvest Moon (Edited)

It’s Only the Manipulated Hunter’s Moon: This is a photo taken from the window of my building, This is a composite photo combining two images into one. The scene was taken with the Google Pixel 4a smartphone and the moon itself was taken with my Fujifilm FinePix HS-10 super zoom camera. The two images were merged on my Apple iMac using Pixelmator. Upon close inspection you probably can see the rough edges.

My original post on Facebook mistakenly declared that this was the Harvest Moon. Upon further research, the Harvest Moon is the one closest to the Autumn Equinox, which fell on September 22. That month’s full moon was on September 20. Today’s full moon is the Hunter’s Moon. You can read more about the Hunter’s Moon at the EarthSky website.

The Harvest Moon (original photo)

This is the original photo shot with my Google Pixel 4a smartphone camera using the “Night Sight” mode. The Pixel 4a has a very good point and shoot camera. I got this device back in late May, 2021.
