ALA Girls State Registration Deadline Nears

American Legion Auxiliary Hawai’i Girls State is doing a last push to get high school junior aged to apply for a political simulation early this summer. The organization is trying to reach applicants from all schools across the entire state of Hawaii.  

ALA Girls State is a 80 year old, nationally recognized, prestigious youth leadership program held each summer for girls following their junior year in high school. Two girls will be selected for ALA Girls Nation at no charge to them will travel to D.C.

The program takes place June 9-11, 2019 at Hawaii Pacific University (HPU). Students will stay at the Aloha Tower dorms of HPU and get to visit the Hawai’i State Capitol to meet with the Women Legislators, debate bills in committee rooms, enjoy college life (with adult supervision) while meeting female leaders from across our state including, but, not limited to those from the Office of Hawaiian Affairs (OHA), Women’s Fund, American Savings Bank, Federal Judges, Senators, U.S. Military, Media and other leaders.
